re: What’s the word on Ramy’s knee ?

Posted by Mpd31 on 5/19/24 at 1:35 pm
Trevor Penning might do well at guard with someone helping him on either side (the tackle and center). He’ll be better able to use his mean streak and pile drive whoever’s in front of him. Focusing on what’s in front of him and going against DTs and inside LBs might be the best way to utiliz...
I think it has everything to do with his ability.
Nope, it is his technique...
No starting quality NFL NoseGuard on the roster at present. Maybe the 6th rd draft pick will provide decent depth ??
Easiest position in the league to fill. Late round picks and UDFA routinely fill this need. Just need a couple big strong guys that can take on double teams on early...

re: Jason Kelce has a strong take on Fuaga
Only it kinda does(on Penning) He was a first round draft pick but is now 25 years old. He’s been in the NFL for multiple years. He’s not some raw freshman in college. He’s a grown man. Can he make some incremental improvements with great coaching and become a league average player, sure but...
If Penning can get his shot together…. there has been absolutely nothing in the 23 games he's played in a Saints uniform that leads me to believe he can or that he ever will, unfortunately... and a move to G is looking increasingly unlikely as well...
His current play has nothing...

re: Great Spencer Rattler Interview

Posted by Mpd31 on 4/29/24 at 8:34 pm
I believe that he was probably cocky and immature early on. I also believe that he was humbled and matured after being benched. I think he still gets a bad rap for the show he was on in high school....
Can Ram play guard? Would that be better on his knee?
Can he play guard? Probably. Is it better on his knee? No it is much worse...
They will all compete in training camp/preseason and best 5 will start week 1. However that shakes out....
What's the deal with this Yale dude, Mason Tipton?
He is raw. His route running is sloppy and has trouble beating press. Game speed doesn’t match 40 time. Likely a slot guy....
The fact that Mel Kiper likes him concerns me. ...

re: What is Spencer Rattler’s ceiling?

Posted by Mpd31 on 4/27/24 at 6:03 pm
There is no ceiling. The sky is the limit. He has all the talent in the world and could b an elite qb. Is that likely? No it is not. But he has the talent ...

Feel like something is going on with Troy Franklin that is keeping teams away. He had some first round projections....

Interesting TE Prospects on the Board

Posted by Mpd31 on 4/27/24 at 8:37 am
Not saying we should go this route but there is 6 or 7 interesting TE prospects still on the board. WR was pretty hammered out with the exception of a few guys still sticking around. Some intriguing guys at DT as well....

re: Updated Saints depth chart

That is in no way official. ESPN just threw darts at it...

To me he moves a lot quicker and smoother than latham or Fashanu. He is the 2nd best tackle in my opinion. ...

re: Regarding Fuaga’s T-Rex arms

Posted by Mpd31 on 4/26/24 at 9:28 pm
you seem surprised they picked a project player that odds are high will never be more then an average rotational guy to spell the real starters.
He is not a project. He is a day 1 starter...
I don’t know see why Fuaga can’t play on the left side. His pass set is smooth. I think it has to be just bc of his arm length that he has been pinned at the RT but that isn’t an end all be all...
