Concert at Red Rocks

Posted by cgoat3 on 5/7/24 at 1:22 pm
Don't know whether this would be travel or music board but I'm putting it here. Anybody been to a concert there? I've been to the venue but not a show. Going to see Whiskey Meyers in June and have reserved seats. Staying in Littleton, approximately nine miles away. It says show starts at 6:30 p.m. W...
I don't know the last concert I went to. Must be at least 20 years. I think Jimmy Buffett in New Orleans the day before the Super Bowl when Montana and Rice beat the Broncos 55-10. Me and wife going to see Whiskey Myers at Red Rocks in June for anniversary. Looking forward to it....

I think it was LSUintheNW that recommended Sparrow Bakery. Enjoyed my two visits there. The one in the market area is a lot better than the one by the railroad tracks. I didn't do a lot in Sisters per se, but Black Butte Ranch was nice in the area. I'm sure if I would have spent more time in the Ben...

The pizza at the Hop and Brew was good. We got in around 6 p.m. Sunday and didn't feel like cooking. There are hiking opportuni...

I was at Black Butte Ranch from July 12-July 18, about 2.5 hours southeast of Portland. Flew into Portland and got out. It was akin to if all the mess was in the French Quarter, I flew to the NOLA airport and immediately drove to Alexandria. I had a conference call 7 a.m. local time, and it was 39 d...

Drove straight through from Salt Lake to Lanana Creek on Toledo Bend. Had bed sores by the time I got there. Planned on stopping between Wichita Falls and Dallas but was wide awake. Decided I would go a little further. Once I got on the other side of Dallas got tired but was too close to my own bed ...
If you do make it to Yellowstone area, if you are headed back and went through Idaho and that route going, coming back down through Pinedale and Lander Wyoming is kinda of neat. South Pass City is about a 90 minute stop to check out. IF you continue south towards Rock Springs down 191, it's high des...

I'm with several of the posters. Kids may be excited about Vegas, but will they understand. It will also be really hot. Vegas is really for adults, although they do have some things catered to kids. Your wife will enjoy it so much more as adults only. Someone mentioned rafting on the Arkansas. We di...
Santa Fe, Denver, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Topeka, OKC. I'm not sure about Lincoln....
I've made that trip numerous times and have gone several ways just to mix it up. I didn''t mind if it added an hour or so but no more than that. This past Easter, my flight out of Denver got cancelled, so at 10:30 p.m. Easter Sunday, me and the wife (no pics) set off. It was also 420 weekend in Denv...

I don't remember them kicking anybody out. They kind of had it in sections. I like how the mayor walks the route with other dignitaries to make sure it is suitable to be run. Pure show. We missed the opening ceremonies. The day before our running, the American who wrote "How I Survived the Running o...

It's approximately 900 meters from the pen to the arena. You can be positioned anywhere along the route. A big bottle rocket will let you know when the first group of "tame" bulls are released, You can hear the boom all over town. A second boom will tell you the bad boys are out. A third boom will t...

Anybody been to Bend/Sisters Oregon

Got a week stay in the middle of July. Been doing some research but thought the board could provide some input. I will have car rental and wanted to do Crater Lake one day. Other than that, I'm game for about anything. Not bring golf clubs....

All good suggestions, especially Athens. We did five days, which was too long. We did five days in Croatia and 13 days in Greece. Santorini was great. We had two nights there. If you are looking for somewwhere else that is close and different, Dubrovnik is awesome. Old City is really cool. It was us...

Cooking Wild Pig in Cajun Microwave

Posted by cgoat3 on 11/20/19 at 3:36 pm
I've got two small pigs that will fit in Cajun microwave, probably without the heads about 12-15 pounds apiece. I have one quartered and one butterflied. I am going to put the quartered pieces in roasting bags and cook the other one whole. How long will they take to cook? My only experience with wil...
I think what will really be interesting is what will Title IX make of this? If the superstar football player is making ten times what the beach volleyballer player is making off her image, well that is just not fair. It will be interesting to see what those SJWs on the left coast really believe in c...
