Sticking with rye, but in a Manhattan this time. ...

Good evening t00f. I'm starting with a rye as well. ...

Good evening gentlemen. I cracked this a few days ago, but wanted to let it open up a little bit before posting impressions. It's on the sweeter side (not surprising given the distillate) with some cinnamon and pepper to balance things out. There's a ton of fruit (cherry, apricot, citrus, fig...

Helldiver was the first pour. I'll wait for it to open up before posting notes, but it's impressive 2pd was good neat, but I think it's going to shine in cocktails. Let's see. ...

Good evening gentlemen. I try to get one of those (Larceny) each year. I'm interested in hearing how it compares to other batches. Agree about the neck pours. I also find that most wheated bourbons drink higher than their proofs. If you add about ten points to what's on the bottle, you'll probab...

The mizunara is good. It's well balanced. Berries stand out in terms of fruit and there's consistent peppery spice throughout. It's not overly sweet which I appreciate. It's not as oaky as the vantage. I didn't pick up the coconut that others have mentioned in reviews, but that could be a function o...

Checking in with the newest offering from barrell. Given how much I enjoyed Vantage, I've been looking forward to this one since it was announced. ...

I enjoyed them all. That proof point is perfect for relaxed, neat sips. HH won this round with EHT second and 4R third. Two of the three are sitting on most store shelves and the EHT might not be too far behind if trends continue....

Good evening gentlemen. I highly recommend this aged and ore blind tasting kit. I've been using it every week. Tonight is a little battle of reliable 100 proofers ...

My double oak is 92%. I'd be happy to do another sample swap. I've got a couple of new purples since the last one we did. I'll send you an email soon. ...

Epic, how does that compare to the double oak you recently got? I have a younger double oak (7 yr) and while good, the cognac finish is a clear step above. I have seen it on secondary for what is nearly identical to retail which kind of blows my mind, especially given what purple tops go for. ...

Happy weekend everyone. Usually don't do so, but had to snap a picture of this Rittenhouse rye Manhattan at a restaurant for posterity. No skimping on the pour. ...

Good evening gentlemen . Glad to hear about the Sazerac timeline TA. I'm definitely interested in adding that to the MM. Starting with a Manhattan. Not included in the picture of ingredients is a tear or two. This was my go to drink at a local restaurant pre covid. 11 bucks. [img]https...

They've been showing off for the last five or six years. The heritage release and special release rye immediately brought in the enthusiasts and forced people to rethink the brand. They have done some innovative things as well such as the single malt and triple mash. The bonded series rye is my go ...

Good evening gentlemen. A bunch of the JD BP ryes dropped locally this week. My understanding is that the stores had no input on these barrels. Just a take it or leave it option. I'm a big fan of that release in general so it's not a deal breaker, but kinda defeats the fun of getting private bar...

The upside is those Kluke batches are released pretty frequently and are very consistent. I was a little worried about quality dropping with bigger batches, but that's not been the case. First for me is a Manhattan. One would think willett could invest in a more reliable cork. At least what's in...
