re: Southern Baptist Convention: IVF is a sin
People can do good works without any religion. Anyone who says differently is in their own world.
Again, "good" doesn't mean anything if there's no God. It's arbitrary and worthless if it doesn't come from an ultimate authority of goodness.
"Good" only means something if it's de...
Plato points out in Euthypro that divine commands cannot provide a foundation for morality. If we can have the independent standard for moral goodness than we do not need God to establish what is right or wrong.
Suggesting that without God everything is permitted is nothing more than a sta...
Yes. I've stated these exact arguments in previous pages. I was using the article to support my definition of atheism because I wanted the definition to be accurate
Good to hear. I wasn’t sure, which is why I criticized the author of your quote rather than you....

That is a philosophical statement rather than a scientific one. It's not possible to use the scientific method to prove that "everything about human beings is an evolutionary adaptation" with science. Wh...
re: How much of a joke is it that Star Wars was ever thought to be equal to Lord of the Rings?

I’m actually really surprised by how many people disagree with OP. I love Star Wars, but I thought it was widely accepted that Lord of the Rings were superior films in just about every way. Seems I was wrong!...
Say what you want about the Catholic Church, but there’s a reason it stays so rigid to it’s old rules.
When you budge on any of these issues, it creates a terribly slippery slope.
That’s why Pope Francis has caught the amount of flack he has.
That's true. And he's caught all ...

We use it, and it's perfectly fine. You have to abstain for basically a week every month, depending on your wife, so it requires a bit of self-control and communication. But honestly, that ends up helping our marriage overall.
Also, for everyone on here acting like it doesn't work, you may be co...

Most of this is fair to discuss, and I'd probably agree with you on many points (though I think you've fallen a bit into the conspiratorial narrative pushed by protestants and sedevacantists). My main concern, again, is pointing out for this board that Francis has not changed the Church's teachings ...

Exactly. And no amount of hermeneutical acrobatics, intellectual tightrope walking or other “clarifications” by P...
