re: What are your favorite cartoons?

Posted by ATCTx on 6/2/24 at 9:17 pm
For an old Gen Xer, prime cartoon watching was 1970-75. My Saturdays started and ended with the Superfriends. I liked Scooby, Hong Kong Phooey, Wacky Racers, Bugs, Fat Albert, Pink Panther and (not a cartoon) Land of the Lost....
We will need 10 runs IMO to have a chance
Agree this feels like a 10-11 to 8-9 score, hopefully to the good guys....
I think the rule is also so the catcher doesn't get hit by the batter or interfere with him. This batter bailed out (unwisely IMO) when he should have stayed in the box. If, according to the rule, stealing home is treated like a suicide squeeze then the batter must have the opportunity to swing/bunt...

He doesn't need to touch it. It's weird but once the call is made the run is counted. per the stupid rule. ...

Sunday - Jump?

Posted by ATCTx on 5/23/24 at 9:20 pm
Win Saturday and need a starter for the SEC tournament championship. Jump would have 4 days rest. The Regional starts next Friday which would give Jump 4 days rest unless you throw Holman game one and give Jump an extra 5th rest day for game two. Do you throw Jump this Sunday? Upvote yes ...
Accolades wise he’s definitely a HOFer. But the voters don’t have to give a reason for not wanting him in. It’s not like they’re answering to anyone
True to some extent, nobody officially, but they do have to answer to the public (perhaps) and their credibility. The comp is TOwens,...
Due to their shift work schedules, every Air Traffic Controller I know is almost always tired, and most look younger five years after they retire....
his off-field BS, has ruined any memories of anything good he ever did on the field, so he is only remembered now, as that racist idiot malcontent, who ruined every team he played for
I don't want him in the Hall but his numbers are pretty incredible: 2010s All Decade Team All ...

The three best I saw (games since 1970): 2019 Florida 1979 USC (lost on very questionable penalty) 2007 Arkansas (lost in 3OT but it was crazy) The three I wish I'd been at: 2007 Florida 2022 Alabama 1982 Fla St The one I wish I'd missed: 1988 Miami 44 LSU 3 ...
We were spoiled in the 70s. After the great horse won, we were treated to the Affirmed/Alydar rivalry, and their Belmont race is probably the best battle of all time given the stakes. They were neck and neck the final mile. Seattle Slew had won the TC in 77, Affirmed in 78 and we should have had ...

This feels similar to when Iowa took out South Carolina in the semis last basketball season. GEAUX ladies!...
Only 5 golfers have won the career grand slam. Sarazen, Hogan, Player, Jack, Tiger. I'd go with Hogan 3rd, Player 4th, and then you can argue about Palmer, Watson, Sneed, Nelson and Jones....

re: JR Ewing - Dallas

Posted by ATCTx on 4/2/24 at 10:19 pm
It is my most memorable scene also. Dallas was really the first of its kind in the nighttime soap/drama category. There was something for everyone especially the first several years of the show. It got worn out towards the end, but it was great television with the original cast. Hagman as J.R...
Absolutely she would. Depth killed us this year. I've seen several interviews where HVL insisted (maybe too much) that she was going to be a good WNBA player. I appreciate the confidence but it reminded me of those American Idol audition interviews where the off key "singer" was positive they wer...
