The point is I don’t think he offed himself because he did poorly in some event I think the groundwork for his issues (mental illness / alcohol / etc) may have been laid at a young age. ...

I’m not saying this is what went wrong for GM but I see parents putting unrealistic expectations on very young children. I can’t help but think sometimes this could metastasis into mental illness later in life I see parents completely breaking down their kid for striking out or pitching poorly ...
