During the 2022-23 fiscal year, the Big Ten reportedly overtook the SEC in revenue. According to a report from Sportico, the Big Ten brought in $880 million from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023, $27 million more than the SEC did during the same time frame...

"The Big Ten distributed around $60 million to each of its members—with 2014 joiners Maryland and Rutgers earning slightly less than their cohorts," writes Sportico's Daniel Libit. "The conference also spent nearly $5 million on legal fees and $439,647 on lobbying activities to 'discuss student-athlete initiatives with elected officials.'”
