I had AT&T and switched to Sling and then Hulu Live once football season started. I'm enjoying Hulu. I went with it over Youtube because of the Hulu/ESPN+/Disney+ Bundle. I might go back to Sling after football to save a few bucks a month. If my wife wasn't addicted to Bravo shows I wouldn't get any of them.

That's interesting. I chose NOT to go with Hulu because I already had that bundle and there was no way to add Hulu+ when billed through Disney. So I just dropped the bundle since we never use Hulu anyway and went with YouTube TV.
We have all smart TVs in the house, but I was considering adding a streaming device to the living room TV because it's a Vizio and I'm not a huge fan of the SmartCast interface and on occasion, it can have an issue even connecting. Looking for an option that would allow straight ethernet connection to the streaming device AND has a remote. Also want to be able to control our Bose Solo 5 with said remote. Rokus are out since they no longer have a contract with YouTube TV (I know all about the workaround through YouTube, have used it, don't care to rely on it as that contract between Roku and YouTube runs out in December).
So I have narrowed it to a Firestick or ChromeCast with Google TV, but I can't confirm if the Solo 5 can be paired up to the ChromeCast remote. I prefer the ChromeCast just on the surface, though I have to get an adapter to run the ethernet. I'm fine with that as long as the Solo 5 can be paired to the remote. Does anyone happen to know? Can't find anything online to confirm this.

Is there a channel guide everyone uses? Since IDA took my dish and threw it into the next pariah, we have been using our jailbroken firestick, but the wife hates it bc she doesn't have anything to scroll through and see what's on. I've downloaded Pluto and apps of the like but nothing shows local.
I'm in the process of cutting the chord and will go back through this thread for ideas, but wanted to ask about the channel guide before anything

On YouTube TV, yes, there is a channel guide you can scroll. It's under the "Live" tab and you need to login online first if you want to set up a custom channel list.

I've been using YouTube TV for about 3 years now. No complaints except for the price increases over the years. Guide is really clean and works great on smart TVs / Chromecast.

Does any know of Cox communications requirements for internet service? I just cut the cord and went to just their preferred service (150mps)

Not sure why the added cost,
just need a modem and main router for connect with mesh nodes.
My main TV and gaming or hardwired.
rest just Wifi. I ues my own modem and router. so cox bill is $79

Thanks for the reply. Cox only offers Panoramic WIFI as an option I was told by them. So, I bought a Netgear Modem that works with Cox and will be turning in my Panoramic WIFI gateway.
Told the guy that today and he gave me a $30 discount for 24 months if I added phone back....I told him I don't need it and won't use it. He told me then don't
So now my bill went down to $90 including taxes and fees WITH the panoramic Wi-Fi gateway. So, once I turn that in, I will be around $80 or so

Is anyone anyone else extremely disappointed in the video quality with YouTubeTV? Any sports I try to watch is horrendous and most shows with any fast movement are sometimes unwatchable. I've never had issues like this with any other streaming service I've used.
ETA: I had another firebox laying around so I swapped it out. Looks great.
So why would that one app on the old box be so bad but none of the others? Every other app looked fine, and yes I uninstalled/reinstalled a couple weeks ago

I wouldn't use troypoint's suggestions for IPTV. They are way too high in cost and get shut down easily since they're being mentioned on a pretty popular website. I do like his instruction videos though.
I can't give out the one I use since they are trying to keep it hush and I'm not risking getting banned, but search via Reddit and you'll find some pretty good suggestions.
