Personal iPhone and work iPad synced together

Does anyone know how to separate.IPad has a completely different apple id but when I add a contact to my phone it pops up on my work ipad. I do have my work email on my phone though

On your phone go to Settings -> Contacts -> Default Account.
Make sure your contacts aren't saving to you work account by default. You can also click on your accounts and disable access to contacts for your work email.
