This is fricking funny. You post on this board like you are the smartest guy in the room. Trying to discuss tactics, this coach made this decision because blah, typing a fricking novel to prove why you are correct. No one wants to read that shite. I’ve been watching football way longer than you sparky and no one wants to hear me break down Marcelo Lippi’s tactics at Juve. Make a quick point and move on. Now, since you sucked Gregg off for so long, you have to lay in the bed you made. Learn from it and move on.

Pretty great quote about this team that I saw posted elsewhere:

quote:

Watching the team try to form some sort of coherent offensive strategy last night was like watching a monkey try to frick a football. At a basic level you understand what it’s trying to do, but in the end it’s just confusion and embarrassment for everything involved.

This was always a big risk.

they REALLy just need to be done with the experiment and focus on winning games and not on starting MLS players.

I never liked the hire, and the mediocre success was always misleading.

A belated note of #USMNT misery, inspired by @MenInBlazers:

The USMNT has four losses to CONCACAF teams in 2019.

That ties the team record for a calendar year, previously done in 1973 and 1957.

I think 7 players that were on that roster vs Canada were on the roster vs Mexico last night.

8, but only three played against Canada.

Roldan started, Arriola and Zardes came off the bench, Guzan, Johnson, Cannon, Lletget and Yueill were all unused subs.

Now, in terms of Nations League Roster, six players who started the final against Mexico started against Canada that night (Pulisic, Sargent, McKennie, Ream, Yedlin, Steffen), with Miazga, Cannon, Lletget and Yueill as unused subs.

Really it just shows you how much Gregg has progressed as a coach and the growth and cohesion of the pool.
