It's just lame as hell that there are people who actually view the Reynas in a more sympathetic light than Gregg, and it's literally just because they hate him as coach
That ain’t it.
The Reyna mom probably has a 30 year old grudge against Gregg because he beat her best friend. She had to sit on that grudge because the friend forgave him, but it evidently blew up out of her when Gregg went after her son in such a blatantly chickenshit way, painting himself as some grand leader while he was needlessly throwing her son under the bus.
What was his justification for doing that?
I can understand her justification for reacting so poorly. I don’t agree with her action, but I respect sincere anger in defense of one’s child, especially from a Mom who has lost a son to cancer.
I can’t find any reason to respect Berhalter. It’s not because he’s a bad coach. He seems to me to be an insincere and self serving piece of crap.
I’ll take honest reactionaries over people like that all day every day.
Sue me.

Thanks for proving my point.

Their case seems to be based on the idea that telling Earnie about the incident is equal to blackmail. I don’t get that, but I also don’t spend a lot of time thinking about blackmail.
It may all be a set up for Gregg to sue them in civil court, which would be exactly the slimy thing I would expect him to do.

Nope, you’re not being honest. You’re not honestly trying to understand me. This is what I hate.

At this point you're just making up GGG fan fiction to fuel your hate boner for the guy.

If she hated Gregg this much, Claudio would not have been the best man at Gregg’s wedding.
I believe a) Danielle Egan could very well have been furious with Gregg in 1991 (and been entirely justified).
b) Claudio Reyna has a good bit of clout. He said absolutely nothing but positive things about Gregg in the first 90 percent of his tenure. If he wasn’t effusive in his praise, there is a zero percent chance Gio’s playing time would have been affected. By this I mean if he said nothing and say on the sidelines, not if he was a vocal critic.

Vernon Davis’s mom definitely should have released a story about Mike Singletary groping someone in 1972 to get him fired after this press conference. How dare he attack her sweet baby Vern.
The professional (and sadly collegiate) sports world is filled with 1000 examples of coaches publicly embarrassing athletes with bad attitudes. But only one family handled it like a bunch of psychos.
Fortunately for Gio four years is a long time.

The literal investigation says it.
They don't say that shite flippantly considering the legal ramifications. Just because SabiDojo doesn't see the evidence, doesn't mean there is no evidence.
Stop being obtuse.

I'm thinking he's referring to the info the reporters have been tweeting/writing about. A few of them have mentioned blackmail when reporting what their sources have told them. Neither Gregggggg or US Soccer's official statements mention blackmail specifically.

Yeah the most I’ve seen is that they have “expanded their investigation to include allegations of blackmail”. That does not mean “we have found proof Gregg was blackmailed”.
And keep in mind they paid a law firm to look into it. That’s not exactly a neutral party looking into the matter.

Oh good god, you have no idea how any of this works.

Been practicing law longer than you most likely. If I believed everything an opposing firm told me, I’d be broke.
Now, like I have said before, if there is evidence of blackmail, then yeah this needs to be taken to the next step. From what has transpired thus far, I just doubt it. Blackmail/extortion is just too unhinged

I promise you that you haven't. I have all the confidence in the world in that claim.
You're going to say some bullshite number though so you can win the argument.

Oooo old fart are you? I love it.
Then now I must ask why you would have so much faith in one firm’s findings? Investigations don’t ring out the truth. Conflict does. We aren’t at that stage yet.
And I don’t think I’ve asked you this: judging by what we’ve read so far, do you think Claudio or Danielle blackmailed Gregg/US Soccer?

Because the Reyna's literally said they brought the info to USSF. It's not that complicated.
No shite their statement after the fact said they had no intention of blackmail.

And if it’s the same statements Danielle and Claudio gave in their press release then there is no evidence of blackmail. Crucial components are missing. Also, whether Danielle’s statement on when she made those phone calls is true is going to be a huge factor. Also what exactly was said obviously. There are crucial components missing that we just don’t know right now.
And stop using literally so much

Because I’m skeptical that Claudio and Danielle Reyna threatened to ruin Gregg’s life by having him fired if he didn’t give Gio more minutes in the World Cup? Does that not seem over the top to you?
