I'd take £60m for Maguire and Scotty in a heartbeat. Get Amrabat in and start looking at another CB for depth.

I thought so too but Maguire's wages are a real problem. How long are we going to wait around to try and maximize what we can get for him is the question?

I don’t know what the hell WHU are up to. Only team in the EPL to not have signed a single person. It’s apparently a mix of Moyes and the new recruitment director not seeing eye to eye and some players just not wanting to play his conservative, defensive style.

Looks like Maguire to West Ham is pretty much confirmed.
Linked to Pavard, Tabsoba, and Todibo to replace him. Pavard is the most proven and would be chepaest but he’s probably shorter than Lisandro and that doesn’t make much sense as a CB pairing. Tabsoba has been on my personal radar for a couple years after watching a lot of Leverkusen during covid but he’d be the most expensive. Concrete links to Todibo but I dont know much about him.

Pavard is 6’1”. Martinez is 5’9”. Primarily a RB but can play centrally.

You are right, I misread how many centimeters he was. Ten Hag supposedly likes him for his versatility which I support. Just with Varane’s injury history plus Martinez and Lindelof relative lack of ability in the air I lean towards signing a bigger replacement for Maguire. But in Ten Hag I trust

I think there is a lot of value in his stature and physical tools as well. We don't really have any other players on the squad like him.

They have had a devil in the crest since the 1940s and are known as the red devils. A word play on that to sell kits is no big deal. You must be a lot of fun at parties, no?
