We got gazzumped. But glad to know we never put in for Lavia, hope he enjoys Chelsea’s bench.

Only Tyler Adams can save us now.

In all seriousness, the real disappointment on Sunday was just the lack of intent offensively in the second half. It was like watching paint dry. Until Nunez came on I don’t recall us even attempting a shot, and that was with 5 attacking players on the pitch and two offensive minded fullbacks. It seemed like the plan going in was let’s win 4-3, but we were abysmal offensively in open play aside from the counter. Thought Szobo should’ve had a pop at one from the top of the box that he tried to lay off. Hopefully Jurgen sat him down afterwards and told him that we bought him to score bangers. Nunez has to start at the weekend. If nothing else he is going to make runs in behind and open up space.

Paul Joyce is saying we never put a £60m bid in for Lavia.. Perhaps we knew his decision or didnt value him at that price... not sure..

They didn’t value him at £50m, but I don’t they would’ve matched the contract length even if they outbid Chelsea.

We should just buy a player from South America every year early in preseason. If he fits the squad keep him, if he needs English seasoning, loan him to Brighton or the like. This way we pay 6-20 for these guys. they don’t lose value but Some of them are going to be high level players. And several will be great squad depth. The ones who aren’t quite that level can be sold to mid table or championship teams.

Missing out on Enzo for 15m is haunting.

So they didn't sign any midfielders?

Who?

Obviously seems like a depth/backup piece but will be interested to learn more about him.

Just pay up for Doucore and call it a window

Then get on our knees and beg Michael Edwards to come back

Definitely a depth signing. Captain of Stuttgart and Japan NT, high work rate, good injury record, runs a lot. I’m fine with it if we bring in a younger DM. Only thing I don’t like is he is supposedly more expensive than Hendo.

Make a run at Doucoure and this could work.

Endo is a good player. He'll work his arse off as I've watched Stuttgart on multiple occasions. Weird seeing an older player signing for Pool though.

admittedly, I’m not familiar with either, however, I can say I’m excited they’re still actually trying to sign somebody.

We shall see how it plays out, but looks like the Reds have agreed a deal to sign Wataru Endo, subject to international clearance and work permit application

I am sick to death of Liverpool showing absolutely NO urgency to fix these CLEAR and DIRE defensive issues.

Been through at least 3 or 4 transfer windows with the head scratching decision of not beefing up the back line.
