My homer guess is 3-1 reds.

Mo scores one from outside the box and a PK

Darwin scores on a header.

yep... tired of these lackluster signing periods, while teams right on our heels get better, and teams that are already super powers get even better...

this nickel and diming "good business" bullshite needs to end... or just fricking give the league title to Man City every year before the season even starts...

Gakpo starting in MF and Mac at DM tells you all you need to know about current squad depth.

That was hard to watch after the first 20 minutes or so. No imagination.

You’re not wrong. Mo looked super pissed coming off but honestly he wasn’t doing shite but be being dispossessed.

Not an encouraging start but glad that we gave up only 1 goal after watching preseason.

You mean other than the superb assist to Diaz that got Liverpool at least 1 point at Stamford Bridge?

That kind of “wasn’t doing shite”?

Honestly, a certain sub-section of Liverpool fans don’t deserve world-class players like Mo Salah. Seriously.

Doesn’t he prefer Chelsea now? This has really been botched.

Reports are we have a deal with Southampton. Chelsea sources saying we still have to agree terms with him, I’ve seen one other source say he still prefers us and that has not changed.

Whole thing is botched. We still need an experienced DM. We can’t rely on a 19 year old this season. This saga is also weeding out which journos are total hacks/Chelsea shills.

That was early in the match and there’s no doubt that he was playing well and dangerous then.

But we were getting dominated 70-30 on possession and that flipped a little when the subs came on. Harvey, Nunez, and Doak brought needed instant energy.

Hell, I was wearing my 17-18 Mo New Balance shirt yesterday and was pissed at Jurgen’s decision to bring him off. But after 5 mins of watching the boys who came on, I changed my mind and thought it was the correct decision.

£60m deal agreed for Lavia

At this point, who cares... I guess an argument could have been made to pay the £50mm 3 weeks ago, but desperate times.. but £110mm for Caicedo is a ridiculous price, too.. I'd have been okay with it because I think he would have been a transformative player like Alisson and VVD.

If Lavia chooses Chelsea with the young players in front of him, well that speaks volumes about his motivation...

I do agree that we need one more experienced CDM.. I would have gone for Adams, but perhaps those injury rumors are a bigger concern... reading Sangare has a £32mm release clause.. I think he would be a solid signing to compliment Lavia

After the first 20-25 minutes of the match, they all fell off until the subs came on

I’m with you. Just hate that if we really wanted Lavia, we could have paid the 50 and been done with this a month ago. I’d like to have Lavia, but 60 is steep for raw talent. Plus we still need CB and RB depth. I’ve seen the talk on Sangare. Not familiar with him but seems decent for the price he’d command.

I’ll let this play out before I update the front page on Lavia. Also, add this under the reasons people may want FSG out. Being knobs trying to lowball and end up paying 10 mill more.

I put more blame on Klopp and company. He’s wanted more power in this and it’s turning into complete mess because of it. Remember Liverpool hired his buddy Jorg. Where the hell has he been in all of this?

I also believe Klopp never wanted Lavia and thought Real Madrid would sell Tchouameni. And it has not happened.

yeah, our recruitment has taken a huge step backwards with the loss of Edwards and Ward (who was instrumental in Mac Allister)... So far, we've paid the release clause on a brilliant player and let two players go unexpectedly with no plan in place to replace them.. Now a month has past and we're over a barrel...

We can still pull something out of our arse here, but this summer was so key to Klopp 2.0 and we fricked it up after a promising start..

They really need to get a new DoF in ASAP.. One who has a clue and a vision...

Paul Joyce is saying we never put a £60m bid in for Lavia.. Perhaps we knew his decision or didnt value him at that price... not sure..

He is also saying the reason we put in the £111m bid on Friday, was because we were encouraged to by the Caicedo camp... Obviously, we got played there!
