Did it all, Bundesliga Championships, World Cup winner as player and trainer, played with Pele in New York. Has been in bad health the last few years. Auf Wiedersehen, Franz.

RIP Der Kaiser
Few footballing careers (on the pitch and coaching afterward) can match his run.

He really accomplished everything. I live near/worked in Munich, enough to not be a Bayern fan (go Dortmund!), but I respect the hell out of him and the club. Another legend gone.

Losing him and Gerd over the last couple years is really sad...it was before my time, but the mid-70s Bayern squads were a true dynasty (coupled with the WC win too).
His sweeper play was revolutionary, and his trainer/leadership role in the years afterward were extremely valuable to Bayern & the DFB.

A true innovator and legend. When they say someone is World Class this is what they mean.
