Because everything he's done has to be the greatest ever. That's a weakness and this illustrates how to exploit it. He basically just gave Kennedy a target to focus on to get Trump to keep talking about this. He's too simple to bait.
I'm voting Trump again. But don't act like this is anything but a weakness. He's usually very sharp about this kind of thing. But this time he's going to follow that formula all the way to pushing people into the Kennedy camp.
