It seems like leftist talking points are not about the particular issue, but about sowing moral ambiguity. This is how they shift the, Overton Window. What would seem absurd 30 years ago is much more readily accepted today. And in 30 years what seems absurd today will be readily accepted then. That's all these absurd talking points are about.

Progressivism is just Marxism in disguise. When the population has become thoroughly indoctrinated in leftist dogma, they won't just not notice their rights are gone, but they will cheer that they are gone.
