Oh yeah. Particularly the Mayor who killed the school system idea while in the legislature by insisting there be a municipality first, THEN saying they should not get a city when she became mayor.

The Governor will appoint a Mayor and a City Council until an election can be held. The Transition Council will meet with the C/P to sort out things

White people

The people of Baton Rouge can thrive now that those evil white supremacists have been removed from their city. They were clearly a tumor on the city which needed excised.

Let’s hope the boundaries are retroactive to the day of the vote.

They are retroactive to the date the election results were supposed to be certified

Don't they have to redo some of those properties that went to the City after the stay was put in place?

i would think this undoes everything done since they denied it.

not sure how the taxes will be sorted out but that will be a mess too

So once the Governor does that St. George is officially an independant city? How quickly can that happen?

I know this would have been a cluster-f**k if JBE was still in office, but I assume Jeff Landry will be more willing to see this happen.

8 Even if Cole had standing to challenge the sufficiency of the petition, we find no error in the trial court’s conclusion that the plan for the provision of services was statutorily compliant. The trial court’s finding that the plan was “minimally” compliant is true inasmuch as the statute itself requires minimal compliance in its silence as to the requirements of the plan. Thus, regardless of the standing holding, we would reverse the court of appeal on the merit.

Interestingly Morvant left the door open. Wish he had just ruled the correct way to begin with. Lost a little respect for him over that decision.

I read it more as "go back and re-read what the definition of 'minimal' means."

This legal ruling will upset some people who don’t support democracy.
