There was an article a few months back that Biden would semi act like he fixed the border at the last minute for the win.

There were so worried with passing the omnibus and aid bills they left an unaddressed issue on the table for the Dems. Now Schumer has a chance to codify illegal immigration.

It's obvious what the Democrats are attempting to do with this issue right before election time to distract from their true position. This move can easily be parried if the Republicans counter with a clear, unified voice demanding long term and uncompromising solutions, including barriers, deportation, military presence, and ending birthright citizenship. The Democrats can only flip perception on this issue if Republicans are willing to accept half-hearted measures that the Democrats throw out that will have no meaningful impact on fixing the issue.
Again, an easy move to counter but the weakness, disunity, and general lack of conviction that permeates the Republican congressional body on this issue makes it possible for the Democrats to mitigate their extreme disconnect with the public on this issue.

The republican leadership can’t bd this stupid . They could have forced the democrats to fix the border or get nothing done . Instead they are going to let the democrats look like they want to fix the biggest issues in the country, democrats will say it’s to fix the border issue but have all their real agenda hidden.
