It’s meant to be ironic because the city is a toilet.

The environmental impact studies alone could take 2 years.

How long until someone overdoses or is raped inside of it?

ETA: They had a party for the toilet...

Here's the video via MSN:

That letter to the legislator from the San Fran Parks and Rec Department is epic.

A paraphrase: "You are the reason a toilet is so expensive to build. Fix the law!"

If I ever make the mistake of going back to San Francisco, I’m going to make a point of pissing on the exterior wall of that atrocity.

Talk about a tourist attraction. If I ever go back to SF, I will go out of my way to take a shite there.

Honestly they should send in Forrest MacNeil to review the $1.7M toilet.

Not to mention the extreme emotional impact this may have on the fragile ego of the homeless. It is discriminatory to expect a victim of homelessness to not drop trou — in front of God and all creation — and sh*+ whenever the urge hits, much less know how to use a public sh*tter.

We need tax-payer funded remedial toilet training classes for these victims of capitalist excess. And tax-payer funded counseling for those traumatized by the high expectations of living in a civilized society.

Some reports claim it "only" was 200k. Ridiculous, either way.

Perhaps we've overlooked the high cost of, and often under-appreciated innovation that went into what is clearly one of the finest stainless steel hybrid water fountain/outdoor urinals on the market today.

To be fair, it is a good toilet.
