'Biden's DEI rules are worse than HAMAS': Top microchip makers are postponing US expansion and instead expanding in dangerous Israel and Russia because American grants come with so many 'equity' caveats.

It also calls on chipmakers to 'increase the participation of economically disadvantaged individuals in the semiconductor workforce.'

The two added: 'In short, the world’s best chipmakers are tired of being pawns in the CHIPS Act’s political games.

'They’ve quietly given up on America. Intel must know the coming grants are election-year stunts — mere statements of intent that will not be followed up.

They add: 'This is the stuff declining empires are made of. As America pursues national security by building a diverse workforce, China does it by building warships.

'Instead of solving the problem, the people in charge are trying to cover the problem up just long enough to win reelection.

'Don’t be fooled by the Biden administration’s upcoming weekend-at-Bernie’s act — the CHIPS Act is dead.'

Hard to make microchips in a Class 1 clean room when your forced to pay $25 per hour and your choice for new employees is between these two:

The Columbus Intel plant is still under construction, but it’s been delayed, not canceled.

Samsung had committed to the largest investment ever in US chip manufacturing. The facility was set to be built outside of Austin in Taylor, TX.

I hate these DEI woke shite heads, they are a cancer to all of humanity with their zero sum thinking.

Except that FJB is F'ing all of us and making the semiconductor markets rely on Asian sourced products.

Comprehending factual news versus opinion pieces is a skill set that everyone should learn.

In an opinion piece for The Hill,

Two experts believe the tech companies' decision to back out of building manufacturing facilities in the US stems from the diversity, equity and inclusion policy.

We all know that's why. CHIPS are very important to our tech both consumer and government...and foreign espionage is rampant....what the hell does DEI have to do with anything?

Manufacturing in general is already very difficult in the US due to the environmental and union nutcases, so there's already a massive barrier and then you throw in a demand to have a set number of LGBTQ reps? What a crock of shite.

What ivy league white woman drew this shite up?

We see it, maybe the rest of the population will who hates Trump could just vote for him because he’s better and businesses may come. Until then, OMB!

Of course. But let’s be honest—factual news is basically extinct.

Can't says I blame them when the government is forcing you to hire the dumbest psychos possible as a certain percentage of your workforce and likely a certain percentage of your leadership. DEI is literally self inflicted rot.

That's a bit too positive a spin. We're pursuing national security by dividing our society into groups based on factors which have nothing to do with skills and then demanding they get skills-based jobs on those factors.

Not that it couldn't be true, but this is CNN level reporting.

Two historians also think Trump is literally Hitler.

Two biologists think women can have penises.

Two scientists say...

Etc

Etc

Good for Samsung, good for Intel, good for Russia.

The simple minded rubes that cheer on this Administration’s push for war and weaponization of the US dollar and economy are unknowingly cheering this country’s downfall. The Biden Administration foreign policy will be legendary in the long term damage done to the US.

Aside from the engineering, what special attributes are required to work in a facility that's making chips?

Yeah, it couldn't be that two of the largest manufacturers of photolithographic semiconductor machines, AMSL and Canon, in the last few months, have both announced major advances in semiconductor technology, and the new machines they have developed to make these new semiconductors reduces power draw by up to 90%, and eliminate raw material needs by 50%, and can develop new semiconductors at 2 microns processing that are 20x faster than current technology, create far less heat, and can perform 10's of millions of more calculations. Current technology is in the 6-7 microns size, are slower, create a lot of heat and cannot perform nearly as many calculations as these newer designs.

There will be enormous upheaval in semiconductor manufacturing, as a result. So other experts, I'm sure, look at this as smart moves by those two companies to avoid building facilities that will be obsolete by the time they go live.

Why don't they build these new facilities to accommodate these new capabilities?
