"Rust" armorer Hannah Gutierrez was given the maximum sentence of 18 months in prison for involuntary manslaughter in the 2021 fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins.

Gutierrez's attorneys asked for probation in a sentencing memorandum filed last week, citing her "complete lack of prior criminal history" and "relative youth." Prosecutors meanwhile requested a sentence of 18 months with the designation of serious violent offender due to her "extreme recklessness" while working as an armorer on the "Rust" set in New Mexico.

"You alone turned a safe weapon into a lethal weapon," Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer said. "But for you, Ms. Hutchins would be alive. A husband would have his partner, and a little boy would have his mother."

Next up, Alec Baldwin

Maybe she'll take the time to read up on how fricking stupid it is to have live ammo on a set.

Remember when she looked like this when it was all fun and games...

Funny how they change when their trial comes in to play...

This means dirtbag Baldwin will walk free with a slap on the wrist and maybe a check to the victim's family.

Yeah. I'm glad you posted the contrast. It was something obvious when she went to trial.

Her first photo makes her look like she just finished protesting outside a Ben Shapiro lecture, on LSU grounds.

She's not a bad looking young lady, and her career as an armorer is finished.

I hope they nail that bastard, Alec Baldwin.

There is so much wrong with this statement having come from a judge. This kind of telegraphs that Baldwin is going to get off scott free.

She brought the live ammo onto the set.
She loaded the gun with at least one live round then handed it off declaring it was safe.
She said that she doesn't have to shake all the dummies to make sure they are safe.

She is 100% responsible.

He won’t even get a slap on the wrist. The pasty has been sent to prison. Just because he actually pulled the damn trigger doesn’t mean he’s guilty of anything.

why is this even a trial? I thought people werent responsible for gun violence? that's why we have to get rid of the guns, right?

I mean... Even as much as I dislike Baldwin, the armorer was 100% responsible for that incident.

Yet there's an indisputable custody break where the gun goes to someone else, who then takes it without checking, aims it at the head of a woman who's close enough to lose an eye just to the gases, cocks it, and pulls the trigger.

Sorry, that's a pretty significant contribution to that woman being dead.

At the least he should be convicted of manslaughter.

I kinda agree with this. Isnt the whole point of having an armorer because Baldwin is just a douchey actor who knows nothing about guns? She is supposed to be the gun expert and oversee the gun safety. He is supposed to dress up like a cowboy and pretend to shoot people.
