No. Because they all were conservatives and this board was ultra conservative, they feel this vast need to justify their choice of a much more moderately liberal candidate over much more conservative candidates.

This board was pretty darn conservative at times.
Its changed quite a lot to a much more liberal board, and the conservatives feel the need to justify their choices, instead of just being honest.
They like the personality and policy is something they can live with.

I think RINOs of which you speak are absolutely conservative, and would describe themselves as such
BUT, the problem is that they are often spineless and terrible at understanding negotiating and leverage dynamics, so they get taken to the cleaners at accomplishing policy.
That's why Trump, who is probably less of a true conservative than many RINOs, actually ACCOMPLISHES Conservative agendas at a much higher level.

The truth is MAGA isn't Republican. MAGA are the true RINOs.
Republican post Reagan means wanting to intervene across the planet, a willingness to lose on the cultural side of politics to ensure American stability, and the need to seem compassionate while accomplishing goals. MAGAs are none of these things.
The only reason that MAGAs can't accept that they aren't Republicans is because the Republicans are the conservative power structure in place, so to reject the Republican brand is to reject access to power.
But it doesn't change the fact that for 50 years prior to Trump Republican meant a very certain thing that MAGAs don't support. Its one of those "if everyone you meet is an a-hole you are probably the actual a-hole" type situations.
