The problem is he has no bite to back up his bark.

Unless he is planning to send the MO NG or state troopers to DC to get the docs from Jack Smith by force (I am Not opposed to this). He won't get the documents.

I don’t have legal insight, but I’m guessing the only way to get them is to file suit and force a court ruling, or use a FOI act claim - or something along those lines.

Correct. The good guys still have the burden of needing to do this by the book. That's part of the reason it takes so damned long.
