Imagine being dumb enough to think that Republicans don't crave Democrat praise so much that they advance their agenda.

Seriously, you don't think the republicans who voted for these politicians 2 years ago wanted a secure border?????

I'm suggesting that people vote for a variety of issues. The Right certainly isn't a single issue voting bloc. You'll get some things that you like and you'll be disappointed at times too. That's just life and politics.

When we talk about the "American People" it's too vast to pigeonhole. Local needs, represented in the House, are going to vary widely. The job someone from New Jersey needs to do as opposed to someone from Alaska is going to differ. Alabama and California... so and so forth. I know this board hates with a passion (as do I) coastal elites dictating to "flyover country", a term that I loathe. This is that same mindset. We have posters here speaking for all constituents across the country when there is no way to know what actually matters to those constituents. Good luck finding polling based on House Districts. Again, this is bigger than the border. I can't tell you how many times I've seen posts saying that such and such Rep is selling out their constituents. Well, maybe, but that is up to the locals to determine when primary season rolls around. Not someone 1,900 miles away. If the locals are okay with it, and they usually are, the Rep will be reelected. At that point the talking point that the locals are being sold out is gone.

It appears there’s only 11 republicans in office that give a crap about this nation. I’m surprised to see that many honestly.

If those 11 would support Mike Johnson, the GOP would have 1 vote majority.

If those 11 would support Johnson, we’d have a single party voting to expand government every chance they got

Are you saying the house cannot pass any legislation with a 5 seat majority or should the house simply not try to do anything (because that is what they did)

Certainly a 1 item spending bill to prevent border crossings would be a great first step. Let the senate defeat it.

She is so stupid. Getting rid of your speaker 6 months before an election might be the dumbest thing imaginable

I hope you still feel this way when Johnson takes the bait again from Schumer anad Jeffries and helps them ram through an Amnesty bill. That will be on all y'all cheering about MTG failing in her bid to rid the House of him. Own it when it comes. They'll get it done before the election since they can't seem to find a way to put DJT in the slammer.

That's the Republican party as a whole. Remember when they had the chance to repeal Obamacare? Yeah, I remember.

That’s a very good comparison because it too was another case of a single Republican seizing a spotlight moment for personal aggrandizement……i.e. McCain with his pathetic and childish thumbs down moment.

When the voice of a political movement is MTG, you are in trouble

You mean like Johnson just did with the warrantless FISA vote? Perfect for the three letter agencies to use against AMERICANS. That's your Speaker folks.

Why hasn't everyone realized that nothing is going to change without blood shed?

It's not even a 2 headed snake in DC, it's one huge snake and they are all one. You have to cut the head of the snake off to make a difference.

Our founding fathers would have shut this shite down at the inception of SS. Here we are doing nothing and about to let the last bastion of freedom simply erode.
