Do you have a single event that "red pilled" you?

And by red pill, I don't mean made you conservative. But means you woke up to the depth of the corruption and who is really running things.
For me, it was the suppression of the New York Post report on Hunter Biden's laptop. It wasn't necessarily the suppression itself, but the coordinated effort across all major media and social media at the same time. As well as the letter sent by the former FBI and CIA agents about Russian disinformation.
It didn't make sense why they acted in such uniformity, when it could have financially benefitted some of them to report on it.

“Russian collusion” and the whole Kavanaugh fiasco.

Not a single event but my dad got me to listening to Rush in the early 90s. That was the only conservative voice at the time besides local talk. It was pretty much over at that point. Rush did more good and made more difference than any politician, maybe except for DJT.

Interesting question. I'm not sure there was any one event, even recently that did this. Just sort of a slow Chinese water torture of examples.
That said, I'll never get over the public's response to Covid and how the media made that happen. When that first went down I felt confident that Americans would mostly tell governments to get bent. Instead, they bent over and raised their skirts faster than anyone in government could have hoped for. When that happened, I lost a ton of faith in most of my fellow Americans, and you could see governments across the world jump at the chance, because it was clear people would fall in line regardless of what they foisted on them.

When I read about all the Project For A New American Century stuff, it made me think there was probably some frickery with 9/11 and it explained what we were doing in Iraq. I didn't pay attention to politics much during the Obama years, but the intelligence agencies and media going all in on lie after lie about Trump, especially Russia collusion, was a massive red pill.

I’ve always been conservative but watching that sketchy late night live vote for Obamacare when nobody had read the bill ( which I’m sure happens all the time but for that large of an issue .. Congress couldn’t even be bothered to read and vote on such an important bill)

Trump's election.
Whatever you might think of Trump, he won fair and square in one of the greatest political upsets in histoy....but the complete hypocrisy in the way the established order came after him really opened my eyes. Trump completely ripped the facade off the press, our political elites, and the corporatists.
He has destroyed their carefully controlled narrative.

My dad kept a lot of old tech, including typewriters and ancient PCs around.
Someone making the comparison between the document and standard MS Word layouts (Times New Roman font, spacing, etc) made a lightbulb come on as to it being fake. Rather digging in by claiming that the Texas Air National Guard had some rare exotic setup that could produce something like this and the media rallying around him fully red pilled me because I knew they got caught red handed making shite up to try and steal a presidential election.
