He needs to be able to slide in for the nomination for 2028.

Don’t need someone else muddying the waters come primary season 2027-2028.

DeSantis is better off where he is being the Governor of Florida. It might help with the suburban wife vote, but the only other major advantage is if you assume Trump dies in office. That’s the only upside for him doing this.

No. Let him progressive-proof Florida for two more years, and then gear up in 2026 as the first hat in the ring.

He won't be and he shouldn't be.

Not worth the minor hassle of the same state thing, and Trump likely needs someone much more moderate and from a swing state on his ticket.

He's already captured most conservatives despite not being remotely conservative, getting Desantis to campaign for him captures more of the rest.

He needs to grab swing state elites and suburban white women in larger numbers, and keep stealing more Latino votes.

Following that logic, why not Fetterman?

It would be quite hilarious though.

I’d rather have Fetterman over Nikki Haley or some warmongering neocon like her.

Depends on who they’re going up against. I can’t name any real winners when it comes to the Democrats. Their best Senator is semi-retarded.

You want Tulsi Gabbard to be the VP nominee.

As long as he keeps doing the job he's doing in FL right now, he slides into the '28 nomination by default without the hassle that follows him if he were to become VP.

I like Ron and I hope he's a serious contender in '28, but I don't believe he should hinge his aspirations on being VP to secure the nom. He's likely got a better shot staying right where he's at and finishing the job he promised to finish.

Trump literally said, out loud, a month ago "I am not a Conservative"

He is not a conservative. He did some things that were conservative, but he isn't one. And many more things he did were not remotely conservative.

There's nothing wrong with that, not sure why you are so defensive about it.

He is a moderate populist that takes things from both sides. Many of his policies are straight from Bill Clinton circa 1992

It needs to be someone who can pull one of the swing states. I like Desantis a lot, but don't know that he moves the needle in that department.
