It will not happen unless the US has a very weak President. Meanwhile, we have two carriers in the area and no telling where the subs are.

Given the current state of this administration it is probably China's best window to do something like this but I doubt it is going to happen...

We’ll know pretty far in advance if China invades Taiwan because there’s no way they can hide from satellites them amassing a massive army in their southeast coast. The invasion force will have to be at least five times the size of the D-Day forces. China will likely do a false operation to justify their invasion and announce it to the world before they do it.

Do the Taiwanese have subs and antiship missiles?

Going to be a lot of submersible Chinese vessels if so.

Taiwan’s weather outside of the mountains is like San Diego. It’s only 80 miles from the coast of China which means barges can make it there in less than an hour and a half, possible two if you were to go around to land on the northeast coast that has favorable beaches to land.

They won't be able to hide an attack of this scale. We would know it was coming for months just from the size of the invasion force and the ships required. It won't be a surprise, IMO

There only being certain beaches they can invade through certainly sets up a kill box for the Taiwanese.

Artillery and machine guns aimed in that area combined with air support to take out paratroopers makes it hard for the PRC to even get a foothold let alone reinforce their troops.
