2 weeks in and the Trump trial is just spinning its wheels

2 weeks of prosecution witnesses and it's gotten no where. They spent today harping on the Access Hollywood tape and the campaign press response to it. It's not substantive to the "falsifying business records" charge just meant to be a character assassination to put "grab em by the pussy" fresh into jurors minds.
Hope Hicks was hyped up to be a star witness for the prosecution and she turned out to be more of a character witness for Trump. She teared up talking about how grateful she was for him to hire her. She also tossed Michael Cohen to the wolves as a rogue self appointed "fixer" who often caused more headaches than anything else.

The jury must be extremely board. I imagine they were expecting some salacious scheme but they've been treated to back and forth between Cohen, Pecker and a few campaign press secretary emails with very little direct involvement by Trump.

The longer this drags on is the longer it is in the media cycle and the longer he is busy in court. These people going after him are not dumb and they're very intentional in their approach.

I think people are widely idiotic and see headlines and then move on. They're seeing that Trump is in court (again) and it reinforces any feelings, justified or not, that he's corrupt and a corrupting influence on others. We're emotional creatures and act based on those feelings. Keeping him court is meant for headlines consumed by the masses. Details don't matter... because we're a society filled to the brim with morons.

I won’t argue that it reinforcing those feelings and beliefs, as you said, but for the extreme haters who wouldn’t ever vote for him anyway. As for everyone else, it’s a common practice to withhold from them the credit and credibility they’re actually due. We’re not simply a discussion board full of a more advanced type people who can identify and understand what we do, for example the same attempted leftist schemes described in your post. I believe many, many more people now see it for what it is than might have four years ago.

Correct. And the prosecution can stretch it out (with a cooperative judge) for months. They could have a list of 100 witnesses who want to testify that Trump is bad. A fair judge would stop this trick.
