Hi my dad worked for Gulf States Utilities and we were life members of the Kilowatt Club. Bar- b-ques there and swimming all day with my friends and family

Same here, we would shut the place down at night. Turn off the lights and lock the gate. Bob Dawson lived in the house, they'd go to bed, let us have the place.

That’s crazy, I also knew Dawson, I remember several times we had to lock the gate, last to leave. My dad was a founding member when they built it.
I remember many big get togethers with other “Gulf Staters” as my dad would say. Eating under the big pavilion, going down the slide, getting a Pepsi out of the pull bottle machine, ahhh the good old days…………

The long road at night going towards Jefferson, one dog leg. I built my Mom and Dad a house in 1995, right across the street in Stumberg Place Subdivision. My oldest was a lifeguard there, back in the 90's.

My Mom and Dad have both passed but I can almost guarantee your Dad knew mine. Mine worked at GSU for 48 years between Louisiana STation and River Bend. Summer, me and my mom were at the KK constantly. Hell, I remember painting the pool one year. Great place.

Yep, work weekends, remember them well. Remember they would have 2 meals, one before the summer, an one at the end.
