Does anyone actually believe this? The people I’ve talked with either have no idea (and don’t care) it passed, or they are for it 100%. Do you know anyone that is against the new conceal carry law?

quote:

A large majority of Louisiana voters believe Gov. Jeff Landry and state lawmakers went too far this year in passing a law to allow people 18 or older to carry concealed firearms without a permit, according to a new statewide poll conducted for The Times-Picayune | The Advocate.
quote:

63% said people should have to get permits to conceal firearms.
quote:

question was asked in a wide-ranging poll of 800 voters around the state. The poll was conducted by Faucheux Strategies, primarily by cell phone
quote:

Women support permits at a 70% clip, compared to 55% for men.

Devils Advocate is trash.

They will pick and choose their "poll numbers" to write articles on based off of them.

Advocate is worse than trash.

LMAO! Consider the sources! A better thread would be which fake newspaper is worse. That poll is so fake, and far off, it's a wonder both papers, and the supposed poll aren't being doxed.

I guarantee the questions were skewed to manipulate the outcome.

Most people don't think past their initial reaction. Family members have had that reaction with me and 2 seconds of logical discussion and they all pretty much realize bad people who will do bad things are already carrying without a permit whether the law exists or not. But prior to that 2 second discussion, they'd all answer that poll in a negative manner towards constitutional carry.

This is so freaking stupid. We've had permitlwss carry in Oklahoma for 4 1/2 years and it hasn't changed anything for the worse.

It's not like this is some new phenomenon and Louisiana is being a guinea pig.

We are the 28th state to get it. It just takes the burden of having to get the permit off of us good people. The criminals already have their guns.

I bet a ton of people would say that the first amendment limits “hate speech”. This is why democracy is stupid.

Not only that, but think about who would take the time to respond to this when cold called.

Might as well just say a large percentage of 800 old people who thought this was one of their relatives calling back aren’t strong 2A advocates, when asked to give a random political take out of context.

You posted an article from the Devils Advocate and took it as gospel. I wish I had more downvotes to give you

did they give a breakdown of how many men vs women were polled? i only saw percentage of group and not number of group. if they asked 700 white suburban women and 100 "other" then the poll is trash.

The only thing the lawmakers did wrong with it,is making us wait until July 4th for it to go into effect. They could easily have made it an immediate change but pushed it to the 4th for optics.

My only really complaint is I think they should've put some wording in there that you would have to at least take one or two classes on gun safety and how to use them.

Like any poll how was it worded and who and where was the poll actually taken from?
I bet I could get 95% in favor increasing income tax rates on workers if I conducted it outside of the welfare/SS office !!

I've always been ok with the permit and especially the training requirement. But this isn't an issue that makes anyone excited. Whether people agree or disagree, it won't change but a couple of people's votes, and not enough to matter for anyone.

I bet most of them didn’t know that you could carry unconcealed already without a permit
