I havent used that particular camera bit I like the Moultries I am running. This is one I was looking at for an upgrade as well. The only negative I see on it is I would like to see a faster trigger speed than 1.5 sec this one advertises.

BTW.... Cabelas has them on sale for $69 right now.

I'de take the one you have and set it up outside at night for some test runs, see how well it triggers at different distances and make sure the night time phot quality is what you need.

I'm running two 880i and two 990i

both are great cams but the 880i gets better ratings on some game camera site.

reason I upgraded to the 990i for this year is you can view the pictures on the camera instead of swapping SD cards and viewing at home.

also have a an old Wild Game Innovations blade 5 that is reliable as all get out, but doesn't take pictures very far when on a food plot.

..yes $69 is the price...

That's a decent price.

If I buy 2-4 they are $55 ea but the $15 flat shipping brings that price up to $59-$62 depending on qty.

I paid $99 shipped for my 990i's this summer and 102 shipped for the 880i's last summer.

IIRC the blade 5 I have was $69

OleBallCoach...I'd advise against the new Moultrie models, especially the A-7i. I've just sent seven back that I bought. There is apparently a high chance for the units to leak rain into the battery compartment. I had a couple units out and when I went to check them I opened the battery compartment to pull the card and water flowed out ruining everything. Others are having the same issue.

Also before I bought them I assumed they would have a battery indicator like every other old Moultrie model but they do not so you don't know if you need to replace the batteries. You could change the card, restart it and it die shortly after and you have no pics until your next check.

Best bet is the older models that I've had lots of luck with including the M-880i which can still be found.

No battery indicator would be a deal breaker for me. I wouldnt even have thought about them not having one. Every camera I have ever had showed the battery strength, even if it was just a 4 bar scale.

Truly hope you don't have the water issue but 2 of the 4 I put out had the battery compartment filled with water (I've never had that happen on any camera before). After seeing two other people with the same problem I figured it had to be an inherent problem so that and no battery indicator made it a no brainer to return them all including the ones I hadn't put out yet and spend the extra bucks on the older M-880i. Either way, good luck.
