Used to be my go to for launching the kayak until it got bought by someone and they closed it. Didn’t know if there were plans to ever reopen it.

Pretty sure they fixed it up but maybe someone else can verify that. From what I remember my buddy telling me it is now a hit of a tight squeeze

Haven't been by there in a while but last I drove by it looked like it was ready to open (about 6 months ago) so I think it's open.

It's a totally different layout than the old one though.

I thought it was private form people that rented there.

There is a new one right across the canal from the old one. Just be warned it is a very steep back down. Pulled up to it one morning and decided to head to sweet water due to tide rolling out and steepness of the launch.

Came in to say the same. Last I heard it was just the new one across the canal from the old one. It is very steep and I’m told it’s really for kayaks and small flat boats. A dude on Facebook posted a pic of him launching his gheenoe. Looked sketch as frick.

I think it’s Darren Schaff’s place, he’s a guide, been around a long time. Sometimes has live bait for sale.

The guy who owns it is named Dion. I’ve been hammering the redfish the past few weekends over there in a kayak and he actually came by to talk one time. As Sloopy said, the launch is very steep and I complained to Dion about that. I wouldn’t recommend launching a boat unless it’s a high tide or you’re in a skiff/flat boat

Thanks everyone. I’ll be in a yak and I’ve done some crazy combat launches so this shouldn’t be too bad.

Yeah he’s got the space for parking and gravel so you aren’t parked in mud but he has to fix that ramp is he wants to make any money. He knows it too. A boat tried to launch there the other day and the bottom of the trailer hit ground and he had to get pulled out with a tow strap.
