Hey y'all, title says it all. I'm on Verizon and I don't even get a signal at the Marina. I'm not looking to have full bars out in Bay Boudreaux, but something I can text with near the marina would be great.

What provider do y'all use?

at&t is the best for coastal signal reception, but once you leave the coast its the worst possible phone reception for you to have. once your 5 miles away from the coast it turns to shite and is trash

verison is great on land, so keep your good phone at home and just buy a cheap discount at&t "pay as you go" phone for fishing.

it solves the need to communicate in an emergency problem, and if something happens to the phone, like breaking or dropping it in the water, its not my good phone

Verizon works well enough for me. Can text from Brush Island, Cat & Ship. Anything further and I'm using the inReach ($12/mo) for limited messages.

Hey Baw, why are your attached to your phone and checking emails/Instagram in the marsh. My pawpaw would have knocked you out the boat. Hontey! If you are worried about safety get a damn garmin bruh!

Traveling to South America next week for work. Going to put their international plan to the test, I am not optimistic they will pass.

I can tell you that Verizon works great internationally, but never looked into who/what they use in other areas. I had better service in fricking Bosnia than I do at my house in MS...I wish I was joking.

Thanks y'all! I like the idea of a cheap burner phone. I'll have to look into In Reach too.

Agreed. I hate att, but their service is the best in south east Louisiana.
