You have the rest of the week off. But for reals, there’s jobs a plenty right now and a deficit of good workers. You’ll be alright!

I have been laid off twice in my career and have “fallen up” each time.

The last time, I spent a few months studying some tech skills. My first job in my new field paid $5K more than the job I lost. To this point, my salary has nearly tripled since leaving my old field.

Don’t panic.
Spend some time preparing for your next job.
Enjoy the break.

Would be interested to know more about industry/position?

Been there. If you hit the ground running, it will work itself out.

There's something like 1.8 job openings for each person looking for a job. You'll be able to find something quickly. Enjoy your time off.

What a difference a single word at the end of a sentence can make. I was happy for you one instant then sad for you the next.

I was laid off myself a couple months ago. A week or two later I got a job that pays more and is a higher title that I don't think I would have ever pursued without my sense of urgency at the time.

Keep your head up. This could open a new door for you that you were never expecting!

Oh and also, this job doesn't constantly ask me if I will be putting my pronouns in my email signature and a month in has offered to pay for my CPA exams. So, blessing in disguise really.

You could literally physically attack your coworkers and a fast food restaurant wouldn’t lay you off right now.

There re millions of unfilled jobs out there now. Think of what would be fun to do, then go apply and get paid for it.
