It's more manly than the purse.

You weigh your food?

I guess if you are on a strict calorie diet then I can see why.

Seems like there's a growing trend of carrying a full backpack around everywhere in the gym

More than just the gym, 20 years ago 40 year olds weren’t hauling around book sacks everywhere they go, now they are. Book sacks had just as much room in 2004 as they do in 2024. Personally, I think a lot of it has to do with trying to reconnect with childhood and simpler times.

For you fellers that are packing half a gym to the gym…..

Seems like a lot of work? Why not find a new gym?

Have a back pack designated for work and one designated for gym

Work backpack contains: Phone charger, variety of pens, reference guides, highlighter, hand sanitizer, 2 full meals, couple oikos greek yogurts, and my yeti of coffee I bring from home

Gym back pack contains: Shaker bottle with aminos/carbolyn, lifting straps, airpods, airpods charger, pair of shoes I use for leg day, and extra shirt in case I need to stop somewhere on the way home

Because you'll get your window smashed and backpack stolen of you leave it in your car. Happens everyday at gyms. In broad daylight no matter if you're parked right up in front of the building or not

Ear bud case
Keys
Chap stick
Wrist straps
Towel
Carabiner attachment for clipping my hat on if I need to remove it

I’m not shuffling all that around the gym. It’s in my very small pack

People working out barefoot.

This one is weird to me. I feel like my shoes provide me with some minimal protection from stubbing my toe or cutting my foot. I can't imagine working out barefoot.

I don't even bring my cell phone to the gym. Then again, I haven't been to a gym since the invention of the iphone.

I don't have a problem with gym bags, I have a very small one I use. I agree with you, I don't get carrying it with you everywhere in the gym, when I went to large gyms I left the bag in a locker and carried a water bottle and occasionally a towel. I think some people do it to claim equipment/benches/racks and not have to let others work in.

Don't live in a big city so I don't have any other options. Carrying a small bag isn't a lot of work. It's more work to drive a long ways to get to another gym just for that

yeti...the typical OTer with a BMI of 32 is attacking you.....just remember they know more than you because they lifted weights in high school.....oh and dont forget they are only 10lbs overweight

only on the OT will you have threads making fun of fat people(mostly created by fat fricks themselves) and also threads where they make fun of people for going to the gym and tracking calories.
