well granted in most cases, but i know this is not a compressor or freon issue

its only 4 yrs old and one of those stupid control boards is not turning it on

lights and buttons work, but the compressor and fans arent working

i know its a damn control board somewhere so its a couple hundred dollar repair most likely

A reasonable person would go to Angie’s List. Or Google.

Similar thing happened (didnt have water on the floor) to my two year old electrolux a few weeks back. I unplugged and removed all the food figuring I needed a service call/new one. On a whim I plugged it back in the next morning and lowered the temp settings. It came on and has been working fine ever since. The only thing I can figure is, being a computer type circuit board, turning it off/on did the trick.

Sorry, no help on service for your area.

There are no more appliance repair people. They are parts changers and not worth the time it takes to get it right.

Just buy a new appliance. You'll be better off.

ya i tried that unplug to reset thing, it didnt help at all. im guessing its the temperature control board since it acts like it is turned off

the water everywhere was the ice in ice maker melting and running down the freezer door

what makes it worse is its a samsung, i had one guy just say no he wont work on it and hang up, when i told him it was samsung

Ran into that issue as well, we bought a camp that had all Samsung appliances, they have been crapping out and we have replaced almost all of them, good advice I got "Do not buy a refrigerator from a cell phone maker, and on the same note, if Frigidaire comes out with a cell phone, don't buy it either"

Lets see, new house built after Harvey hurricane

first to go was outside commercial ice maker

next up was clothes washer, repaired once for 600 and then fubarred

next up was expensive drawer type microwave $2000. Replaced with a counter top model priced at 128

next up was slide in stove/oven, burners quit and finally oven

Life expectancy is now about 3.5 to 5 years for major appliances. Common problems are control boards

Forward looking strategy is to buy cheap, discard when a problem and never call a repair service

No bullshite, one of my good friends bought a refrigerator. And two days after the warranty was up it broke (it wasn't the extended warranty, just the warranty that comes with it when you buy it). He called Best Buy and they told him they would have someone come take a look. Evidently the sub contract people to do repairs, etc... And he said it was obvious they get the cheapest subs they can because they guy had to stay on the phone with best buy while they told him exactly what to do.

It turns out there was some part that broke and it was going to cost him $200 less than what he bought the refrigerator for to replace a part. And just went ahead and bought a new one.

Everything today is built like shite.

I’m a fan of new tech, but I really do believe that moving simple appliances from analog to digital is setting the entirety of western civilization backwards.

It’s often cheap Chinese tech (boards, chips, etc) so it’s the first thing to break and the hardest thing to repair.

Yep, these days, it seems like the only two options that make sense are to DIY or replace the whole thing.

If you still want to try repairing it yourself, look up how to enter the diagnostics mode. That might point you in the right direction. Sounds like it might be the inverter control board since the fan/motor/compressor aren't getting power. (Saying this based on my vast ocean of knowledge which consists of replacing the inverter control board on my washing machine once.)

Based on the Youtube. The control boards on that model look easy to replace. Find the right parts number, buy a used/refurbished part, and save yourself a few hundred dollars.

eta: They say that two things that electronics hate the most are heat and moisture. So they went ahead and put extra electronics in every spot subject to moisture and heat.
