The profile of the mouth breather reminds me of this:

Has anyone tried mouth taping while sleeping?

Read the book “Breath” by James Nestor. It’s fascinating.

I could only breathe through my mouth as a kid. Then I got sinus surgery in early high school and it changed my entire life. Sleep is so much more restful ever since.

Assume that’s how married men get any sleep.

Both of those examples are better looking and in better shape than 80% of this site's posters.

I meant on themselves, but point taken.

No but I have practiced breathing exercises to expand lung capacity prior to bed and have been told my snoring decreased when I do them consistently.

I immediately laughed at your comment because admittedly I read taping as tapping.

I actually just did. The first one I tried didn't work. Wife told me last night.

I'm going to have to finally schedule that ENT appointment to fix my broken nose (broken by a poster, actually).

We definitely used this term in the 80s as an insult.

I'm a nose breather. My wife must be reading that Breath book because she's been telling me all about this stuff. Some of it has been known a long time, like the impact on bad breath and cavities.

I see what you did there. Clever but was it always you "forcing" the issue. She is your ex after all.......

Is that what we're calling nose jobs these days?

The mouth breathing is the result of a structural issue, in many cases it’s a tongue tie preventing normal skeletal growth, but it could be the result of a broken nose too. Orthodontics and tooth extraction, and that includes wisdom tooth extraction, contribute to the problem. Diet could play a role too.

It’s crazy how breathing through your mouth makes you go bald

I got very sick after New Years as one does after a holiday season of being in close proximity to a ton of people and I was eating dinner one night and this had never happened ever to me before but my non clogged nostril clogged to match the other one. I had to alternate chewing and mouth breathing and it was hell on earth. So I don’t know how mouth breathers do it tbh
