Dear Facebook…

Was pumping gas this morning, ($3.49/gallon) and watched a huge lady get out of her truck. It took her a minute to wiggle out, and she could barely lift a leg to walk, so it was more of an uncomfortable shuffle.

I wondered if she had a disability. I felt sad for her.

I went inside, and was behind her in line. Both arms were full. She had purchased two egg rolls, two other roller items, energy drinks, at least 2 Cokes and a bag of chips. I don’t know what all she had, but it was $24.72 in snacks.

Beyond the health aspect, how can people afford to live like that?

Don't worry about that since you're helping fund it.

If I was dictator, useless eaters would be gone by EOW.

Yep. I'm struggling to buy groceries each week and I see people buying $300 of crab legs using my tax dollars. It is pretty damn infuriating.

Government handouts/entitlements. Did she have a “handicapped” tag or license plate? If not, good for her.

I believe sometimes that people like this lady have just given up hope. They didn't get that gigantic overnight, but they're too far gone to try to fix it. It's a mental thing. I feel for them, but on the other hand, i don't.

same. hurts my heart to see fat little kids trying to play and not being able to because they cant run and jump. then i see their fat lazy parents and my sadness turns to anger. it's borderline child abuse IMO.

At the end of the day, obesity is a mental health issue. Some people can’t function unless their house is insanely clean and orderly. Some people can’t function unless they have some alcohol in their system. Some people loathe themselves so much that they willingly take the hit of junk-food dopamine to their own demise. Some fatties probably do it out of spite because they know it disgusts you and others that they disdain.

They get a little sympathy from me because it’s hard to imagine wearing my mental weaknesses as a huge, shameful fat suit for all to see.

The ones that really get me are the 400+ pound women wearing masks. Oh, so you’re concerned about your health?

I do not understand how their parents have no problem with destroying their kids lives.

Compassion for those who struggle. Still better for both you and them than ridicule and shame.
