Their employees voted to unionize a month ago and now it looks as if it’s closed. Is this a reno or closed permanently? Looks like there are contractors there but they took all the branding off the building

It's not showing up on their website, so it probably is closed. There's one in the Albertson's on George O'Neal now.

Pretty sure they have a sign on the store that says “we’ll be right back” alluding to renovations

Per the other thread, that store is “remodeling”.

That term has a meaning in BR of “out of fricking business” dating back to at least the oil bust in the late 80s.

I’ve seen a few wrecks from Karen’s leaving that Starbucks parking lot to take a left and people taking a right from Sherwood and hitting into them

I hope that Starbucks was worth it

What happens to the unionized employees during the "renovations"? Can someone work there and not join the union?

They are probably ubering and doordashing and driving for Walmart delivering groceries to fat fricks that are too lazy to go into a store and shop

Yep. We unionized which is a basic human right and they shut down the store and blamed Trump for ruining the economy but we all know they just don’t want to pay livable wages

Is this remodel a means to purge the union employees?

I imagine a reasonable course of action is to shut the store for renovations, offering the "unionized" employees positions at other locations, and hire all new employees for the grand re-opening.

Dunno legal issues, but that's what I'd do...

Yes. Louisiana is a right-to-work state.

Getting rid of play area and converting it into dining.
Adding covered ordering area for double drive thru
Double drive thru will no longer condense into 1 lane
Adding covered double drive thru pick up window with door for staff to walk out of for 2nd lane
Demo and rebuild south exterior wall to accommodate extra drive thru lane.
Parking lot realignment for the same.
