I think opinion articles should be eradicated from "news."
Whats the BFD if he wants to buy his linemen watches let the dude live

The holiday season was in full swing, with high hopes for the Ravens, when I read that Lamar Jackson gifted Rolexes to his offensive line. So disappointing that in an age where professional athletes are making an insane amount of money he couldn’t have donated to charities — and done it in the name of his offensive line — then treated his teammates to dinner. Those players can all afford their own Rolexes, so it is very discouraging that someone didn’t give him a little guidance. It just flaunts the amount of money they make and don’t know what to do with. Sorry, Lamar, I am not such a big fan now.

I really don't get the recent extreme hatred for the wealthy in our culture.

Meh. Letters to the Editor have always been the haven for crazy folk. I remember when I lived in North LA and they closed the Tony Romas Rib restaurant. Some dude wrote a letter to the paper claiming that the local government should have stepped in and made them keep the restaurant open (mind you the chain went under and they closed nation wide) because black people liked to go the the place after church and closing it was racist.
I just remember thinking “why the frick would they print that crazy shite?”

Wealth-hatred was less of an issue before Tricky Dick decided children should be allowed to vote.

She probably runs a charity, and wants more money to pay herself under the table.

Been there since time immemorial. The poor just recently obtained a voice.

Maybe he wanted to give to people he knows and appreciates?
..giving the city of Baltimore a home field playoff berth is charity enough.

I'm a laissez-faire, libertarian capitalist but even I have to admit that this is, at least partly, the fault of the wealthy.
You have to reinvest in your company when times are good and every move can't be about cutting payroll costs. We have to stop thinking quarter-to-quarter and start thinking long-term like the Japanese do. We just have a bad corporate culture because all the idiots that were coming out of Harvard business school in the 90s are still in charge.
If you don't break a little off for your employees every now and then the plebs will rise up and ruin it for everybody. The masses are asses and you have to make them feel good about themselves if you want to keep riding high.
TL;DR - Quit being greedy and stop pissing in your own Cheerios. You might have the money but the power is, ultimately, in the numbers.

What is more upsetting: her dumb ideas or the Baltimore Sun printing that crap

Think of all the good that The Human Fund could’ve done with that money.

And how many people are involved in the manufacture and distribution of those watches?

It’s none of her fricking business what another person does with the money THEY earned. It’s not her money and it’s not her decision on what someone else does with it.
Sick of these virtue signaling, SJW’s who think they have the right to control other people’s life decisions.

It stems from academia - teachers who got into their professions knowing that they won't make much educating kids who also won't make much to hate wealth. It starts with high school teachers pushing their agenda on their students, then ramps up in college when everyone is required to take a couple of sociology courses that cram the left wing nonsense down kids throats. Some buy into it, then they go work for the media who buddy up with politicians to promote the nonsense.
People who can, do. Those who can't, teach and complain about their pay while advocating for government redistribution.
