Prayer Request for Baby Renee
Posted on 2/14/22 at 5:01 pm

Update: Baby Renee passed away yesterday. She’s being held in the arms of Jesus now. Please keep Who Dat Tiger and his family in your prayers.
Original Post: I’m not sure if everyone remembers this, but one of the posters started a prayer request thread for his baby daughter several months ago. Since then, I have been following his precious baby’s FB page (Rally for Renee) and praying for her to get better. A few days ago, she was able to go home. Unfortunately, she had a setback and is now fighting for her life. If you believe in God and the power of prayer, please pray for this baby girl.
Below is what his wife posted on FB today:
This may be the most difficult post I ever had to write, but we are in need of a miracle. We have been blessed with so many and I have to ask you for as many prayers as possible for one more.
Saturday morning Renée was irritable and then by mid morning had a high grade fever. We took her to STPH ER to be checked out. Her fever wasn’t going down despite several doses of Tylenol and Motrin. She was started on antibiotics, but that would take time to set in. Renée had run high fevers before, but has never not responded to Tylenol. She was admitted for observation since her fever was still very high. With all of the stress, she ended up going into a pulmonary hypertensive crisis. For the first time in our lives we saw her heart rate go above her paced setting of 140! She was admitted to PICU and shortly after had a small seizure. At this point an ambulance was en route to transfer her back to OMC PICU. In the meantime she had another, prolonged seizure leading to cardiac arrest. This seizure was not responding to meds. They ultimately had to drill a hole in her leg bones to administer immediate life saving medication because they couldn’t get iv access. This amount of medication needed to save her infiltrated her leg tissues causing major damage to nerves, muscles, vasculature, and skin. Once she was stabilized, she was airlifted to main campus at 3 am where she is back in the CVICU we just left.
She is very critical right now due to everything her poor little body has been through. We don’t know about the recovery of her brain, liver, kidneys and gut after not receiving blood and oxygen during her code episode. She doesn’t have any pulses below her knee in her left leg right now. We still don’t know what caused her fever after her viral panel came back negative. She is on iv antibiotics now.
We are so heart broken that our beautiful miracle baby has to go through all of this. She is so undeserving after all she has fought to overcome. Please keep her close in your prayers.

Someone posted about this earlier today. Such an awful situation for such a beautiful baby girl and her family.

My heart absolutely breaks for Baby Renee. As difficult as it was to read, I know it was much more difficult to write, let alone for the family currently endure.
I pray God is merciful on Renee and her family.

I didn’t realize someone had already posted. My apologies. My heart is just breaking for them. There is nothing in this world that is scarier than watching a child fight for her life. May God heal their precious Renee.

Yes so very heartbreaking. I’ve been following since Hurricane Ida when he posted about they were safe at the hospital but their home destroyed.
God bless them and Renee’s healthcare team.

It was me who posted and it’s now pages down so no need for apologies .. the way I see it the more people aware and praying the better.
As the mother of 3 grown children this is so beyond heartbreaking.

Praying for strength for y’all right now, and a miracle for Renee. Make sure to continue asking her team in the CVICU any questions you have. I know y’all aren’t new to prolonged medical stays but when I was a resident I always wondered if the families got all of their questions answered or if I did a good enough job explaining.

I don’t mind and I appreciate you asking for prayer requests earlier today. We need all the help we can get.
The short of it is my wife got very sick during her pregnancy which led to Renée being born prematurely at 26 weeks. She had an uphill battle since birth but she fought like hell for 8 months. Its always been a roller coaster ride. Just prior to Ida my wife was admitted to the same hospital as our daughter Renée and then to the ICU during her stay. While staying in the hospital with my wife and daughter through the storm, we found out we lost our house in the hurricane. We’ve been through a lot of adversity but have a great support system. We were able to get our new home ready in plenty of time for when Renée finally let us know she was ready to come home last week. She had a great few days at home before a fever over the weekend spiraled out of control. Still no results of what caused the fever that quickly led to seizures and cardiac arrest. We were in the ER at STH being monitored when it all happened before she was airlifted to OMC. We’ve been at the hospital with her since surrounded by many prayers in need of a miraculous recovery.
Our happy baby girl on her discharge day last week

WDT I’m out of town but that package will be mailed when I get home. Know that others are praying for you all.
Renee has been a warrior to this point .. I pray that continues.
