Went to see The Lion King with my family at the beach last Thursday. It was the premiere, and it was at the beach, so it was crowded. There were so many people openly using their phones during the movie. One young lady sitting in front of my niece was holding her phone up high while she texted and used Snapchat. She did not even care that she was shining light right into my nieces eyes as my niece tried to watch the movie.

It’s just frustrating to see the open lack of respect that people have for others. If you are desperate to use your phone that much, don’t go to the movies.

I always enjoy waiting for an hour in the doctor’s office and listening to people get a text every minute - and hearing their phone conversations on speaker

An usher came by and I pointed it out to them, but when the usher came back with backup, the girl had finally stopped.

like talking in line at the grocery store. 20 years ago anyone who did it was an a-hole, now it's "why do you care"?

It's why you don't go to theatres. Just like ballgames. Watch it on TV.

Could have just ended your statement right here and you would still have been correct.

I rarely go to the movies these days. I might go once or twice per year. The family wanted to go and we needed something to do, so we went. The experience wasn’t bad, but the phone usage became so disrespectful.

It has to be something that I really, really want to see for me to see a movie in theaters now. Phones are a big reason, along with people who feel the need to talk to the movie.

Why anybody would pay to see a movie in a theatre escapes me.
