On average, how much do you spend on a bottle of wine?

My ordinary table wine runs about $50 for reds and $30 for whites. If I’m bringing a red to a small dinner party it will be about $120 and I’ll buy it that day. If it’s just one of my brother’s family dinners I bring my table wine.

Depends on the party, certain groups $75-$100, others $20-$30.

Same with whiskey, some places I’ll bring a ~$50 bottle, others I’ll bring >$100.

I make it obscure and south american.

Budget never factors into it. Maybe 15 bucks. May be 100.

Never really indicative of quality, only rarity.

Depends on the host and event

My wife’s weeknight girl stuff, a 18 dollar of rose or two we buy by the case

Normal casual dinner gathering, some 35 dollar crowd pleaser type

I’m going to a wine dinner with some more semi-serious wine people this weekend, so 50-75.

I rarely buy wine specifically for an event, though, it’s all from whatever we have on hand

Oh gtfo. If you spend more than $30 for ‘ordinary’ table wine you are just trying to show off, plenty of very good wines that people know are good for $20-30.

Hell plenty in the $15-18 range.

ETA: my answer is $8-14
