New format for the TD forums is now out...

Dhillip and his team of engineers, under the close supervision of Circus Child, worked hard on this and I am proud of their efforts. SECrant.com has been live with these changes for over a month and many of you here have been using it for months as beta testers...thank you for all the feedback.

Most of the changes are behind the scene to improve page performance and revamp some old code. There are some aesthetic changes (nothing earth shattering) and some new features, with more on the way.

Dark Mode
You can now switch your pages to dark mode...on mobile, click the hamburger menu in the top left of the screen and you will see an option to turn on/off dark mode. For desktop, scroll to bottom of the page. The setting is device specific, so you can use dark mode on your phone and keep light mode on your desktop.

Last Page Read feature
Desktop users will notice that we removed some of the paging links next to each thread title on the forum index pages. We now just show the last three pages of a thread (we listened to your wailing, plaintiff cries). We have also added a way to get to the last page you have read in a thread. It will appear if you have advanced to beyond page 1 of a thread.



To turn this feature on, go to your Account Settings page and turn on "Show 'last page read' icon" setting. For mobile users, you can get to the Account Settings page by clicking the hamburger menu on the top left of the page.

Note: If you are on page 5 of a 10 page thread and jump back to read something on page 1, the Last Page Read value will remain 5. If you jump to any other page beside page 1, the Last Page Read value will update accordingly.

Signature Images and Text
We made the decision to remove sig images and text from being displayed on desktop. We encourage users to get avatar images, which will one day be used on the mobile forum pages.

Back to "Top" Link
The "Top" link that appeared on each forum post on the mobile version was also removed. Space was getting limited in that area. We are beta testing a way for a user to to increase font size in their Account Settings, which would cause more spacing issues. It took me a little bit to get used to not having it but now I just click the top of my phone screen to take me to the top or just scroll up.

I promise that you will get used to these changes very soon...there have been very few complaints at SECrant.com...
