My mother-in-law is cool. She always minds her own business. She is truly the perfect mother-in-law so I send her a nice gift every year.

Treated her as my own mother when she was living. I loved her, she loved me…

Even if you don't like someone, it never hurts to be nice. Especially if being nice is meaningful to someone you carr about.

Too many assholes are selfish and only care about themselves and won't go to their in-laws twice in a month for someone they supposedly love.

I called her yesterday. She’s not my mom and not nearly the woman that mine was. It’s up to her son to call her today. FYI, the saying that a man marries a woman just like his mom doesn’t hold true with us.

Us either. Not even a little. He says that all the time.

Well, when I signed up to marry the woman the MIL was in the package deal. Wife passed away. We like each other and now she has the onset of dementia and she needs me. I’m on the clock.

So your significant other calls their mom and you call her separately?

In this particular instance, I called her separately, but it didn’t have anything to do with Mother’s Day. She’s been having a few health issues and I was calling to see how she was feeling. I try to call her once a week. I will admit,
I used to tolerate her more when I was younger, but as time passes it gets increasingly more difficult. I know it should be the opposite, but way too many factors to list why.

My M-I-L is not the problem, but her cocksucking husband on the other hand.... (not my F-I-L, second husband)

I bought her a gift & my husband got her a card. My MIL is an amazing grandmother, and manages to be incredibly supportive without meddling or being intrusive. I’m very grateful.

I sent mine a text because I knew her kids would call her. I also talked to her the day beforehand. We talk pretty regularly.

My wife is closer to my mom than I am. They go to lunch and stuff like that during the week.

Luckly I hit the in-law jackpot. I love my in-laws and do alot of things with my father in-law.

Yesterday father in law got crawfish and I took my family crabbing. Brought the crabs over and boiled for the whole family.

It has taken me nearly 60 years, but I have finally realized that every woman wants to be honored on every holiday. On holidays such as Mother’s Day, I just wish every woman I talk to a “happy Mother’s Day” and go on about my business. I haven’t had anyone yet that told me she was not actually a mother!

What?

When my wife calls her own mother I walk by her on the phone and yell “happy Mother’s Day “

Is that not what everyone does? You call your MIL directly? Without your wife?

Wow, talk about loving kindness. I know the ride you’re in for and brother, you’re my kind of honorable. So many that could walk away, would. Seriously, your kids, if you have any, will tell their great grandkids about the kind of person you are. The world needs more like you. Godspeed to you.
