Where? The only place I would live is the coast. The rest is a shite hole. Jackson? Meridian? Natchez? Vicksburg? Greenville? Haha.

I'm in East Tennessee and every time I go back home, which is 3-4 times a year to Nola or BR, I am stunned at how terrible it is. It just feels and looks gross. Litter, trashy people, bad infrastructure, etc.
It is really sad. And would be totally different if Louisiana could figure out how to elect different people.

Honest question here.... is Mississippi any better?

You won’t regret it. And when you go back to LA to visit for the first time, you’ll wonder what took you so long I leave in the first place.

WAT? I thought that building off Airline at I-12 was their corporate office?

Ah yes, another post seeking reassurance and upvotes from other people who left LA and love to remind everyone how happy they are.
They’re so happy they spend time on a message board to assure you their life has improved and they’re much happier.

To us, Louisiana is starting to resemble a restaurant that is going downhill fast
Best wishes on your new adventure. Where are you moving to?
Curious to notice that lots of homes are listed for sale in BR and they are normally listed in the $400-700K range. Pretty steep for a city that supposed to go downhill. I mean, real estate in homes there have retained value.

Move somewhere genuinely great like Utah or Idaho. SMH if you just trundle off to Houston

Lucky. I still regret not taking a job in Wyoming with Sinclair back in 2015. I'm an idiot
Don't be. That whole Rawlins area is horrible. There are much better places.

Made the move this time last year. Wife and I are over the moon with our new digs and the quality of life comparatively is through the roof.
Over the last 10 years, we have lived in New Orleans, Metairie, Kenner, Baton Rouge, and now reside in northwestern Alabama. We love it.
Roads are better, public services are better, it's cleaner and better taken care of, legitimate well-paying jobs are available. The people are nicer and lack the attitude that's prevalent in many back home in SELA. Car and homeowner's insurance is ridiculously cheaper. You're not being actively nickel-and-dimed by the state through bullshite like brake tags. The only thing you'll miss is the food and drink and honestly, that's just fine by me.
