The weather data is reported in Napoleonic Code format on legal size paper.

The source for the graphic did not want the added expense of hiring La. meteorologists.

I've lived many places, but the hottest I've ever experienced would have to be if you drew a line from Shreveport to Houston. That route. It is the meshing point of very high temps and very high humidity. Houston gets to 104 with 40% humidity. South LA gets to 97 with same humidity. I think Houston with heat index is the hottest place in the Western Hemisphere, maybe tied with Phoenix for heat index bc that actually does get to 115 to 117.

People like saying Death Valley CA got to 134. Vast majority of the time, the high there is in the 90s with less than 10% humidity. It got up to 122 last summer. I checked the humidity, it was 3%. The feels like was 108. Whereas 104 and 40% humidity, the feels like is 118. So 104 in Houston feels 10 degrees hotter than 122 in Death Valley.

The Equator and countries in Central America don't really get above 90.

I have some doubts about a map showing the Rockies being between 60 and 80 in the middle of winter.
