I think the main reason is how Dana has focused on making it a world sport and bringing it to foreign countries. Also, there are a certain group of very famous actors, athletes, influencers, etc that always show up. Then you get the merger with ESPN, the frick It attitude from Dana and lastly Trump showing up has made it grow astronomically the last few years.
Connor helped it grow but he doesn’t seem to care to fight anymore. If Connor would have been in his prime now with the views he would be more popular than he is now, which is crazy to think about.

Yeah I agree my statement is probably more geared toward American fighters who get the majority of the media time here. Regardless, the view some who don’t know the sport hold that it is a bunch of trailer trash showing up is unfounded. If you like personalities you won’t find a better sport to follow.
