If Pluto isn’t a planet, then why is Europe a continent?

They did my boy Pluto dirty.

But Europe gets to be a continent due to ‘cultural differences’ with Asia even though you can walk in from Asia.

With that criteria couldn’t every country be its own continent due to ‘cultural differences’?

I don’t know who that is. Just trying to lighten the mood with an off the wall topic.

Geographers and geologists don’t consider it an actual continent. It sits on the same tectonic plate for one thing. To them, while it’s fine to use “European continent” in a colloquial sense, in technical writings of geography and geology, it’s called “Eurasia.”

It is my understanding that it is the same block of land for both Asia and Europe.

You’ve got it backwards.

Europe is a continent . Asia isn’t - they’re the orient because of all the orientals that live there.

Turns out there is a lot of Pluto sized worlds floating through the solar system. If you like satire Terry Pratches "The Science of Disc World" is a good read or listen if your into audiobooks.

Just wait a little while. The science will change & it'll become a planet again.

If you want to blow your mind, look at what separates Asia from Africa.
